Position Snapshot
· Flexible on COC
· Fulltime- Live onboard
· Fishing, Diving and Occasional function onboard
· Must have working rights in Australia
While the Vessel requires a class 3 COC when chartering they have a shore-based charter engineer who is FIFO for charters only, therefore they are flexible on the engineering ticket required for the sole engineer
Although commercially registered, the focus of the vessel is private use.
Terrific opportunity to build up commercial sea time and work on commercial tickets on larger engines (Powered by twin MTU 16V diesel engines)
The yacht has moderate use, with good down time for the crew between trips.
The engineer will have plenty of support in the role from both captain & shore based engineer + additional phone a friend support from the previous sole engineer.
Yard times completed on the Gold Coast
The ideal Candidate
· Sole engineer time on yachts or commercial or 2nd engineer on larger vessels
· Good knowledge of ship systems
· Can undertake a sound preventative maintenance schedule
· Knowledge of survey requirements / records, logs
· Hands on
· Forward thinking with spares
· Can assist across departments (when necessary)
· Working Rights for Australia
· STCW , Seafarer medical
