Summary

The position:

Chief stewardess.

The yacht:

43 meter expedition Feadship Motor Yacht currently privately registered.

The program:

Worldwide cruising, off the beaten track. Focus on experiencing new cultures and destinations. Some diving. In the words of David Bowie: “I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise I won’t bore you.’’

The crew:

8 crew, good longevity. Mixed backgrounds and nationalities.

The guests:

Primarily the owner and his family.

The responsibilities:

•Guest Satisfaction: We maintain a high level of service whilst at the same time interacting on a very personal level with the owner and his family. You must be able to interact with our owner and guests and hold down an intelligent conversation with them. A good sense of humour is critical.

•Interior Maintenance: You will be responsible for the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the yacht’s interior spaces.

•Inventory Management: Keeping track of interior supplies, including linens, toiletries, and other amenities.

•Accounting and financial management: Sensible purchasing with minimal waste. Uploading all transactions on the payment platform.

•Liaison with Guests: Determining owner and guest requests and effectively communicating these to the captain/ crew.

•Administration: Some yacht specific administration is taken care of by the Chief Stewardess.

•Watchkeeping: Take part in look-out and anchor watches.

•The interior crew consists of a team of two. Vacation is taken when the owner is not on board, usually during crossings and maintenance periods. During this time, you will work as sole stewardess.

The Candidate:

You should have:

•Basic STCW

•ENG1 or equivalent

•Food and Hygiene level 2

•Schengen visa or be able to obtain one, prior to joining.

•Hospitality expertise: We are not a silver service yacht. Meals are served properly, at a high standard but with an informal flair.

•Wine Knowledge: A good understanding of wines and the ability to recommend and serve them.

•Cocktails: A good understanding of cocktails and the ability to recommend and serve them.

•Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

•Attention to detail: A sense of pride in everything that you do.

•Experience: You must have obtained enough experience to be able to comfortably perform your duties.

•Mindset: Just being a good chief stewardess is not sufficient.

oYou must have an adventurous spirit and want to travel.

oDue to the remoteness of the cruising destinations, you need to have the right demeanor to be able to fit in with a good crew and be able to enjoy their company.

oWe are looking for someone that will engage with the current crew and the guests, during shore and water-based activities during their “off” time.

oThis is not a position for a prima donna. Every crew member on board puts in their pound of flesh to ensure that the program is successful.

oLongevity: We expect the candidate to commit for the long term.
