An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Marine Engineer to join my exciting and progressive client in Dunchurch.

Dunchurch Wharf is a boatyard for canal boats located at Dunchurch Pools Marina, near Rugby. The yard is growing as it develops its reputation and facilities.

The Marine Engineer position provides a unique opportunity to join the Dunchurch Wharf team and grow with the business. It’s a fantastic time to join the company as they are a busy team with big plans to grow and with growth, naturally comes progression. The role requires a forward thinking, motivated professional to work alongside their current, highly skilled team.

• Diesel engine, gearbox and drive train fitting, fault finding & maintenance

• AC/DC, 12v/240v electrical installation, fault finding & maintenance

• Diesel heating systems installation, fault finding & maintenance

• Plumbing

• Welding and steel fabrication

If you have marine experience but do not tick all of the above, please do still reach out for a confidential chat as the company will support training to develop skills for the right person.

A typical day might involve using the boatyard’s new 40 tonne amphibious hoist to recover a narrowboat from the water, servicing a historic diesel engine which is the owner’s pride and joy or saving the day by fixing a customer’s hot water system so the family boating holiday can go ahead.

It is anticipated that the individual will work five days a week including Saturdays (40 hours per week). A program & quality bonus scheme is in place and overtime also available.
