Marine Resources are looking for a Project Manager for a market leading business who are in a period of serious growth. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee workshop operations and ensure the successful execution of projects.
Position Overview:
As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and coordinating the development and production of custom component solutions for high-end sail yachts. This role requires a deep understanding of project management principles, design concepts, and ideally, a passion for sailing.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues.
- Coordinate project resources and ensure efficient allocation.
- Monitor project progress and report on key performance indicators.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients.
Design and Engineering:
- Collaborate with design teams to translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
- Review and approve design concepts, drawings, and prototypes.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
Production Oversight:
- Supervise the workshop team responsible for building bespoke components.
- Ensure that production processes are efficient and meet quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and procurement of materials.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and rework.
Sailing Understanding:
- Utilise your sailing knowledge to understand the unique needs and challenges of high-end sail yacht components.
- Collaborate with clients and sailing enthusiasts to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Engineering education background within marine highly desirable
Proven experience in the principles of project management, preferably in a manufacturing or marine industry.
Strong understanding of design concepts and engineering principles.
Familiarity with sailing and a genuine passion for sail yachts.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
