HOUSEKEEPER/LAUNDRESS FOR HIGH PROFILE UHNWI IN LONDON
Location: London, UK Salary: £30,000-£40,000 negotiable depending on experience Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Housekeeper and Laundress to work for a high profile ultra-high net worth individual in their two London residences, and additional residence outside of London. You may also be required to travel to the principal’s residences overseas on occasion. The principal is a well-known prominent figure, who has a variety of business interests, as well as a portfolio of five properties internationally.
You will be responsible for management of the principal’s laundry and clothing to exacting standards including extensive caring for delicate items, occasional packing and unpacking for the principal and his guests. Working alongside two other housekeepers, you will also be responsible for daily cleaning of the property, ensuring exacting standards at all times.
In addition, you may also be asked to do additional duties including formal and informal service (training can be provided if needed), wardrobe management and inventories of clothing and jewellery, personal shopping, general household upkeep etc.
Working days within this household are unpredictable, so flexibility with hours and days is essential. Occasional international travel mat be required, and out of hours on-call will be expected.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Management of all household laundry, including clothing, linens etc. • Care and laundering of fine fabrics including cashmeres, silks, bespoke suit materials etc • Ironing, pressing, folding and appropriately hanging/storing all items • Daily cleaning of the property alongside other housekeepers • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the household • Household organisation – both on a daily basis and on occasion you may be required to travel ahead of the principal to his other homes and ensure that everything is prepared before his arrival • Take stock of all household items ensuring everything is well-stocked - managing inventory and stock lists • Turn down service • Flower arranging
ADDITIONAL DUTIES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED, BUT ARE NOT GUARANTEED: • Management and organisation of all the principal’s clothing to an extremely high standard • Packing and unpacking to a very high standard • Styling – sourcing and preparing outfits for events, liaising with designers to arrange clothing on consignment and arranging discounts where possible • Preparing daily clothing options – smart and casual options to allow choice (putting options away once selected) • Taking note of current items in wardrobe in order to make suggestions of outfits for events • Shopping with principal for clothing • Tailoring and alterations of clothing • Organisation and management of jewellery and watches • Managing and caring for extensive shoe collection • Formal and informal service for the principal and guests • Serve and supervise at private functions and events • Polishing silver and cutlery • Smaller household jobs when required, i.e. changing light bulbs, picture hanging etc • Additional duties as required
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: • Previous experience in a similar role supporting an UHNWI within private households, private yachts, hotels or in hospitality • Very high attention to detail • Team player • Has the attitude that no job is too small • Experience in serving guests • Discreet • Confidence when dealing with big personalities • Happy to travel at short notice • Trustworthy and handles confidential information appropriately • Good standard of written and spoken English • Right to work within the UK • Driving license • Excellent checkable references
