Prerequisites:
Experience of working in the Maritime Industry.
Course Overview:
A three day course aimed at giving the students the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to research, design, prepare and deliver short professional courses for maritime people working, or wishing to work, within the maritime industry.
The course will concentrate on the learning styles of students and the reasons for tutors to develop a range of delivery strategies. The first day will also include discussion about possible sources of quality information and the range of methods that could be employed in assembling the information into a suitable learning structure.
The course will cover a micro teaching session where each student will design and deliver a ten minute presentation to the other students and the tutor. The recorded session will be reviewed by the class and the “peer” feedback given to the student.

Learning styles
Developing a training needs analysis
Designing education and training sessions
Learning resources
Writing measurable learning objectives
Assessment/evaluation of learning
Practice presentations and learn correct styles
The course content has been designed to match the learning outcomes within the IMO model course for Train the Trainer (6.09).
The course will include videos, discussions and interactive exercises.
Upon completion of the course you will be presented with the original certificate.
