This four-day course is to teach pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boat handling to the standard required to skipper a small cruising yacht up to 24 meters safely by day in (non tidal) waters with which the student is familiar. This is very much a hands-on course with little time to teach navigation or other theoretical subjects. It is therefore recommended that you take the Day Skipper Shorebased course prior to your practical course so you can put those skills into practice on the water.
Course includes Preparation for Sea, Deck Work, Navigation, Pilotage, Meterology, Rules of the Road, Maintenance and repair work, Engines, Victualling, Passage Planning and Emergency Situation, Yacht handling under power
