This Seafarer.online course is intended to provide the knowledge and certification required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan.

Important Information:

After completing your course and receiving your training certificate, you will need to upload it to the Norwegian Maritime Authority’s website to obtain your official Certificate of Proficiency (now issued digitally). This is a quick and straightforward process.

A fee of approximately €60 is payable directly to the Norwegian Maritime Authority for this service. We are committed to fair and transparent pricing — this mandatory fee is already included in the advertised course price, so you can easily compare options without hidden costs.

Course Structure

This Seafarer.Online course will familiarise seafarers employed on vessels with the security risks associated with shipping and the maritime world. It is a legal requirement that all seafarers undertake security awareness training. The course is written in compliance with –

• IMO model course 3.27,
• STCW reg. VI/6, table A-VI/6-1
• ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) code

If you are required to complete security-related duties as part of your role on a vessel, then you will require a designated security duties course instead (don't worry! We offer this too!).

A Norwegian flag-approved course is one of the most widely accepted at sea; however, it's important you still check that the course is suitable for your vessel.
