Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (A-VI/1-4)

This course is a pre-requisite for entry to the Merchant Navy and conforms to the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) standard. The course also forms part of the 5 day STCW Combined course.

Delegates successfully completing the course will have gained knowledge of:

Familiarisation with Code of Safe Working practices for Merchant Seamen

Types of emergency which may occur and complying with emergency procedures

Observing safe working practices

Understanding orders and being understood in relation to shipboard duties

Contribute to effective human relationships

Taking precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment and the effects of operational or accidental pollution of same

Basic environmental protection procedures
