1. Antibes, France

Why it’s great: Antibes is the heart of the Mediterranean yachting scene. In spring, yachts prepare for the busy summer season, and captains are actively looking for new crew. Crew houses and training schools make it easy to meet the right people.

Best time to go: March to May, before the Mediterranean season begins.

2. Palma de Mallorca, Spain
