The candidate specification
We are in search of an experienced Lead Service to join our dynamic team aboard a private 70M+ expedition yacht. The successful candidate will lead the service department, ensuring the highest standards of service, organisation, and guest satisfaction.
The ideal candidate should have significant experience in administration and management, including leading all service onboard in collaboration with the Chief Stewardess, demonstrating competent organisational abilities, and possessing excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook Express. In terms of interior experience, a minimum of 4+ years\\' experience in yachting and minimum 1 year as a lead service on a similar size yacht with a strong emphasis on excellent service skills, table setting, forward thinking, and creativity. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent cocktail, bartending, and barista skills, as well as wine knowledge, preferably having completed WSET Level 2. Experience in buffet, silver, and plated service, along with laundry and housekeeping skills, is essential. Regarding sports, the candidate must be physically fit, capable of running 5-10km with guests, and guiding outdoor activities. Personal sporting experience and achievements are highly appreciated.
Interior Operations:
Ensure detailed maintenance and cleanliness of all interior areas
Monitoring of guest food and beverage provision inventory
Assisting Chief Stewardess with errands and provisioning
Offering beverages to the Captain and official visitors
Completion of all checklists required by Chief Stewardess
Maintenance and polishing of silver and service ware
Monitoring work or maintenance performed by crew and contractors within the interior
Reporting any required work or maintenance
Assisting with administrative tasks and running of the Interior Department in absence of Chief Stewardess
Participation in regular job-specific training and knowledge sharing
Assisting Housekeeping Department and Galley as needed
Performing watchkeeping duties as scheduled and directed
Owner/Guest Operations:
Regular owner and guest interaction
Preparation of the yacht for guest arrival, including detailing guest areas, stocking cupboards, pantry, and fridges
Welcoming guests on arrivals and attending to their needs promptly
Leading service of all meal times in collaboration with Chief Stewardess
Preparation for meals, including attractive table settings and organized service areas
Maintaining communication with other departments about guest movements and meal times
Compilation and maintenance of guest preference sheets
Service throughout the day, including snacks around main meals and evening cocktails
Looking after guests during outdoor activities and entertaining children on board
Required experience: Minimum 1 years\\' experience in leading a team and Minimum of 4 year\\'s experience as in yachting
Qualification: STCW ’95 Basic Safety Training, ENG1, Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)Food Safety Level 2 and Discharge Book
