Summary
We are looking for a talented Sole Chef for a newly built 27m motor yacht. The
vessel will be mostly for private use with a bit of charter. This is a seasonal position
from the start of June until end of September starting in Turkey and cruising
through Greece and Croatia. Ideally candidates would have previous experience
with provisioning in these areas.
You will be responsible for planning and executing menus for various meals for up
to 10 guests and 3 crew (4 when in charter). You must be able to prepare and cook
a wide range of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, emphasizing
taste, presentation, and efficient use of space and equipment. Exceptional
Mediterranean and Asian cuisine knowledge will be required for catering to the
owners. English speaking is mandatory and other languages would also be
beneficial.
Duties include cleaning the galley including all the cooking utensils, pots and pans,
as well as menu planning, provisioning, maintaining food safety and hygiene
standards, administration, grocery shopping between trips, inventory and making
sure all food is of high quality, presented well and served on time.
This position requires strong communication skills, extensive food/nutrition
knowledge and creative plate presentation. You must also have a flexible, can-do
attitude to adapt to what is available. Typically, the successful candidate will have at
least two years working aboard a vessel of similar size. Your culinary repertoire will
ideally be varied and include special dietary needs. Also, a willingness to help the
Deck Stew out with indoor duties including serving and tidying common areas
would be a bonus.
Schengen visa or citizenship is also required.
Open to couples as the vessel is also looking for a seasonal Deck Stew.
