Silver Swan is Currently seeking an experienced Captain, to join a 49m yacht, based in Dubai. IMMEDIATE START.

The successful candidate has to have experience leading yachts of this same size, or larger (non negotiable).

Language: fluent English, plus Tagalog or Hindi (to better communicate with the crew)

Familiarity with the Gulf waters is essential.

Having previously worked as a Captain for Middle Eastern owners is an advantage.

Flexibility, great organisation and communication skills are paramount.

The capacity to work well with a small team (less than 10 crew members) is also key. 

Ultimately, the Captain will ensure the Principal is well looked after, from the minute the family arrives to when they leave.

This is a live out position.

This is a permanent role, that suits those Captains looking for longevity from their next position. Nevertheless, the Owner is open to considering relief Captains, while searching for a more permanent appointment. 

START DATE: ASAP.

Responsibilities:

• Full management of the yacht and its navigation for all trips, as required

• Taking full responsibility over passengers and crew

• Overseeing engineering work, and reporting to the Owner

• Organising all food shopping before and during the trip

• Work closely with the Stews to ensure service is 5* at all times

• Legal and regulatory compliance

Ideal candidate:

• 500GT master needed

• Experience in yacht size equivalent or bigger (a must)

• Excellent communication and organisational skills  

• Language: fluent English, plus Tagalog or Hindi (to better communicate with the crew)

• Excellent leadership skills

• Safe and competent navigational and ship handling skills 

- Ability to remain calm and give directions in an emergency situation

• Extensive experience in the Gulf area

• Engineering experience is desirable 

• STCW fully updated 

• PDSD Seafarer’s Medical Certificate

• Discretion & flexibility is paramount
