RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship

The Essential Navigation and Seamanship course is ideal for both inexperienced Skippers or Crew, Anglers, Divers, Kayakers or those who may have practical experience, but would like to brush up on their theory and increase their knowledge. It is equally relevant to both sail or power driven craft. The course covers topics such as: Chart work, Navigation, Safety, Pilotage and Passage Planning, Weather, Buoyage and many more areas.

We will provide you with a training pack which includes, a RYA training chart, plotter and dividers, to use during and after your course. This course is ideal for those wanting to make short passages around Channel Island Waters.

Useful Information

We like to run our courses with a Max of 4 people, this provides you with the optimum amount of Instructor to Student interaction.

The minimum age is 12yrs old and no prior experience is required to attend.

There is no examination to take as the Instructor will ensure you fully understand each module before progressing to the next.
