Summary

Deckhand needed for a Happy, Private 92-meter motor yacht

The Position:

  • Deckhand working within a team of 6 Deckhands, OOW Bosun, Second Officer and rotational Chief Officers

  • Responsible overall for the cleanliness and maintenance of the Yacht

  • Varnishing, painting, caulking and other general repairs

  • Tender driving

  • Watersports activities (Boss on)

  • Guest interaction (Boss on)

  • Bridge watches, anchor watches, port watches and lookout duties

  • Occasional Watch duty (Boss off)

  • Start date - within 2 weeks

Requirements:

  • Applicable Visa to board the vessel in the USA

  • Full Basic STCW

  • ENG1

  • PDSD

  • PWC

  • Yacht Rating Certificate OR another CISR recognized qualification such as any one of the following:

•An AB Certificate issued under the ILO AB Convention; or

•A UK Efficient Deck Hand (EDH) Certificate; or

•A Navigational Watch Rating Certificate issued under STCW

(Yachtmaster works too!)

The Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 1 year experience

  • A motivated individual with serious commitment to the industry.

  • Positive attitude/work well in a team

  • Eye for detail

  • Good work ethic

  • Experience at large tender driving

  • Someone who is happy to be based in Florida most of the year

  • Someone who is happy with a not-so-busy program

  • An active and healthy lifestyle (but also likes to have some fun)

  • Diving/Watersports Instructor certs are a bonus!

The Package

  • 60 DAYS HOLIDAY per year, usually split into two

  • A starting salary of $3,800p/m - there is room for negotiation, dependent on experience

  • Additional incentives for longevity and commitment

  • Weekends off all year round, unless you are on Watch Duty

  • Impeccable Crew accommodations

  • 2 Flights home per year
