About & Hobbies

I'm a 54 year old Master having been in the industry since 1992. I am married with two children. I am fit, very active and looking much younger than my age and live a healthy lifestyle. I have been involved in all facets of the industry and have had the pleasure and opportunity to work for wonderful Owners. I have worked as a Deckhand through to Master on both power and sail yachts (private and charter) with real time experience in all disciplines. Shoreside, I have been an Owners Representative for a 60m motor yacht build at Lurssen Yachts and have also managed yachts. I am conscientious, service and detail orientated, personable, approachable and respected by my past employers, peers and crew. I'm a Captain that leads by example and I am equally comfortable getting my hands dirty as I am taking care of the accounts. Safety, preventative maintenance and Owner/Charterer focused enjoyment are standard mindsets. I have a lot to offer and welcome the opportunity to connect with you.

Surfing is my go to sport and I have been the President of WP Surfing (Cape Town District) the past few years. Swimming, kiting and mtb riding are keen interests. Reading and current affairs entertain my mind and my first love is my family.
