My love for the sea led me to the Canadian Coast Guard College where I turned a boyhood passion into a professional career with the highest standards of training. I worked as a deck officer for several years before taking those skills into a career as a yacht captain. With 20+ years of experience, I am now looking for my next captain’s position aboard a motor yacht of between 35m – 45m. After safety, my top priority is the comfort of all the guests aboard. I am adaptable and have a personable character. My good communication skills and natural leadership qualities ensure there is a positive atmosphere within the crew and that they are focussed on their duties and on providing a personalised and professional service to our guests. I am articulate, meticulous, well presented and calm natured. I have excellent situational awareness. My references from charter guests speak for themselves while my loyalty and history of longevity are proven in my track record.
When not at work, I enjoy pottering in my workshop and gardening at our old country house. I also like, hiking, playing tennis, skiing, photography and AirSoft. When I have time, I also help my wife with all the repairs which are needed at a small stables she manages near our home. My 500 ton Captain's Certificate of Competence was recently revalidated by the MCA. My ENG1 Medical is in date. Triple vaxxed for Covid 19.

I joined this 37m commercial yacht on the hard standing in Mallorca, finished her winter works program, launched and commissioned. I got her through her Class + Flag surveys and then ran an extensive Mediterranean charter program. This summer we did 6250 miles between Venice, 2 months in Croatia, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Naples area, along the Riviera and back to Mallorca. We were very busy and successful with rave reviews!
As you will read in my Cv, when I had been managing Smooth Operator for a year (see below), the owner asked me to fully manage his other yacht as well. This one is based in Croatia. I recruited the captain and crew and fully managed this yacht for the owner. I liaised between the captain and the owner. I went out to Croatia several times a year to meet with the crew, mentor them and check up on the yacht. This was particularly challenging because they work in a different language, currency and mind set!
After running this yacht for a couple of years, the owner asked me to manage her as well. She is a high profile yacht always seen at the Cannes Film Festival, Monaco F1 GP event, St. Tropez, Porto Cervo, Mallorca, Ibiza etc. I ran the 32m but managed them both (along with the 27m) so covered a lot of administration, quotes, invoices, crew recruitment (and contracts), winter worklists and project & refit management. Mentoring another crew to run at the standards we expect was challenging but I achieved the mandate!
