ROTATIONAL CHIEF OFFICER 80m (10:10 w)
We are seeking an experienced Chief Officer to join a very busy 80m based in the Europe.
Start date: end of Feb/first week of March Package: Salary DOE Leave: 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off
The vessel has a very strong sports program onboard so candidates will enjoy being active and fitness should be an important part of your life. Interests and experience in three of the areas below is desired.
• Road running- 10-20km with guests • Watersports- windsurfing, kite surfing, dinghy sailing, wake boarding or paddle boarding • Cycling - road, mountain bike or spinning • Diving qualified • Sea fishing
Experience/qualifications/Deck Exp required: • Master 3000GT, will consider Chief Mate 3000GT if the candidate can gain their Masters within 6 months. • Minimum of 6 years’ experience and 2 seasons as 2nd Officer on or above +60m yacht • Excellent tender driving experience especially outboard engines • Highly skilled in varnish and Awl Grip painting systems • Highly experienced in general maintenance and upkeep of the exterior and associated deck department areas • Strong seamanship skills including mooring operations, anchoring and general rigging and rope work • Able to train the Department in any subjects relating to the Deck Department including Navigation
Administration and Management: • Be able to carry the responsibilities as HOD of the Deck Department including guiding and directing the 2nd Officer where required. The Deck Department consists of a 2nd Officer, Seasonal 3rd Officer, Bosun, 5 Deckhands and a Deck/Eng. • Acting Captain (administratively) in his absence • Exceptional organizational abilities • In depth knowledge of ISM, ISPS and MLC, able to develop and implement any associated Ship Operating Procedures including procedures forming part of the SMM and SSP. Must also be able to train crew in this regard. • Able to develop and implement internal organizational policies • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office. Previous experience in Triton, Idea or any similar organizational management software will be advantageous • Able to manage the Deck Department Budget and follow accounting procedures • Under the direction of the Captain must be able to act as the owner’s representative during shipyard periods as well as with any projects generated internally or externally
• In addition to your duties as Chief Officer you will be appointed as the Safety Officer, Security Officer and Medical Officer. You will train all crew in safety and security procedures and in addition enforce and train where necessary, all policies and procedures pertaining to the vessel.
