Summary

  • 3+ year’s experience ideal, always nice to have restaurant backgrounds
  • Needs to have a skill set where they are confident in creating a menu under the watch of the head chef and executing a meal for guests in the head chef’s absence
  • Desire to learn from the head chef while also being capable of standing on their own cooking for 23+ crew members and possibly being called upon to prepare an owner’s meal for 1-4 people
  • Experience provisioning and understanding/ respecting crew vs guest budgets
  • Requires someone who is also relaxed in the galley, and can be prepared for frequent last minute changes without having a change in attitude
  • Calm and professional attitude in the galley and out
  • Happy to work on a private vessel, able to self-motivate and be happy in moments where the vessel can be quiet
  • Any additional skills such as baking (gluten free) or particular cuisines which the head chef could rely upon would be beneficial to broaden the skill set of the galley
