Role: Captain & Chief Stewardess team

Summary: Seeking Captain & Chief Stewardess team for expedition motor yacht +/-46m – world travelling. Private/charter. Very busy yacht that undertakes extended (multiple months at a time), remote, worldwide cruising and guest trips– so the team must be highly energetic and motivated to succeed in this role.

Start date: January 2019

Minimum qualifications: Captain must have minimum Master 3000gt (Y) STCW Basic & Advanced safety, ENG1, Helm Management. Chief Stewardess must have STCW Basic Safety, ENG1, prefer senior Medical Training Beneficial qual’s & skills: For Captain - AV/IT skills especially MS Office, accounting, engineering knowledge, management experience, experience in offshore cruising especially Pacific ocean and Asia. For Chief Stewardess - hospitality training including silver service, wine and spirit knowledge, team management, AV/IT skills especially MS Office, accounting, highly organised and able to plan ahead and anticipate guest needs, discretion and confidentiality.

Other: All qualifications to be valid for a minimum of 12 months

Required experience: Minimum 5 years as a Captain on yachts over 35m. Extensive watch keeping experience, prefer full ISM experience but extensive Mini-ISM acceptable. Good experience in commercial Flag and Class surveys with solid knowledge of Class requirements. Chief Stewardess must have served as a Chief Stewardess for minimum 2 years.

Cabin: Own cabin for team

Salary: DOE – paid in $USD

The Captain’s primary responsibilities include:

• Safe navigation and operation of the yacht • Safe manning, crew recruitment and training • Compliance with all relevant Flag & Class requirements, international safety codes and the safety training of crew • Itinerary planning • Budget and expense management • Accounting • Mini ISM safety management • Overseeing the proper maintenance of the vessel including shipyard periods • Assuming the role of ‘host’ and entertaining guests • Administration • Issuing standing orders • Planning ahead to anticipate guest’s needs

The Chief Stewardess’ primary duties include:

• Full responsibility for the interior of the yacht • Recruitment, management and training of interior crew • Foodservice, including providing silver service • Drink service and bartending • Overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of guest areas • Cabin preparation/ housekeeping • Flower arranging • Administration • Accounting • Purchasing including wine and owner requests • Arranging trips, transport and other similar events for guests or the owner • Medical and safety duties • Planning ahead to anticipate guest’s needs

Program: Short-term – maintenance period in San Diego until early 2019. Cruising program for 2019 not yet determined but expected to be North and/or South Pacific. Role suits candidates who enjoy sports and activities, especially diving, fishing and water sports.
