Rotational Sous/2nd Chef position available for a busy Private 55m Motor Yacht
Start: 1st March 2019 Location: Mediterranean then Middle East
Package: salary paid in Euros per month, 2/2 rotation during the summer season (approx. 8 months). Since the yacht is quieter off-season and under maintenance, the chef is not needed on board and will be paid a retainer for approximately 4 months.
Experience and attributes required: • Professional culinary experience preferably working on 50m+ yachts as sole chef or previous 2nd/Sous chef position on 60m+ yachts • Able to cook on his own for 15 crew and up to 12/18 guests • Strong time management skills • Experience and knowledge of diverse international cuisines • Team player and must be able to take instruction well from the Head Chef and also work with own initiative • Must assist with the maintenance of high standard of hygiene in galley, mess rooms, pantries and storerooms • Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm and courteous at all times Qualifications required: • Culinary trained Chef with Ship’s cook certificate • STCW with Security awareness and PDSD • Seafarer's Medical Certificate (with 6 months' validity) • Food and Hygiene Level 2 ideally 3 • Seaman’s book • Yellow Fever Vaccination (preferred)
