POSITION: Technician 2IC

START DATE: 15 November, 2018

LOCATION: Middle East

  • Trade Qualified in Electrical, Mechanical and Construction

  • Fluent English both verbal and written

  • Several years of experience on cruise ship and/or private yachts or luxury hotels/large private estates.

  • Experience in overseeing a maintenance team and able to oversse construction works and manage projects independently.

  • Knowledge of best practices for construction - electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry and general construction with an eye for detail and workmanship

  • High level understanding of AV/IT/Networking issues, able to understand and communicate problems with these systems to system specialists and upper management.

  • Good knowledge of one or more of the following skills: HVAC/Electrical/Plumbning/Masonry/Carpentry/Painting/Locksmithing/Welding

  • Excel/Word/email skills - comfortable with using spreadsheets for tasks such as calculations, communicating project need and requirements, maintenance lists and administration.

  • Eye for detail

  • Ability to delegate and lead by example

  • High work ethic/moral standards

  • Proficient with computers and mobile devices

  • Proactive to problems and solutions under pressure


  • Managing a team of 16 staff and stepping in tot he Head Technician role in absence of Chief Technical Officer

  • Need to be able to resolve problems such as temporary emergency repairs, leaks, small scale construction and repair projects, electronic/IT troubleshooting

  • Required to inspect maintenance and repair work done by external contractors and able to report any visual defets/blemishes and ensure work is up to standard

  • Maintain good communication with your team - sharing information is key.

  • This is an overseeing role but also hands-on. You must always assist your team if needed.

  • Report all defects and follow up till complete.

  • Workplace Health and Safety Compliance - ensure safe work practices are maintatined and complied with.

  • Inventory control, ordering and warehouse/supply control.
