Summary
Burgess Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Purser to join a 120m+ private/charter motor yacht.
The role requires a highly organised and confident professional with strong administrative and financial skills, the ability to collaborate across multiple departments, and a genuine passion for supporting a positive and inclusive team culture while contributing to the vessel’s scientific and conservation mission.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Purser or senior administrative role on yachts or expedition vessels
- Strong background in onboard financial management, accounting, and budgeting
- Experience coordinating crew administration, payroll, rotation planning, and certification tracking
- Charter experience highly desirable
- Explorer yacht or expedition experience an advantage
- Proven ability to manage and support multiple departments, liaising effectively with onboard crew and shore-side teams
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Confident, adaptable, and positive approach to leadership and collaboration
- Additional skills such as concierge, travel coordination, or event planning are an asset
- ENG1, STCW, Security Awareness, Food & Hygiene Level II, Crowd Control, Crisis Management, Seaman’s Book required
- B1/B2 visa required
Start Date: Flexible when the right candidate is found
Salary: 9500 EUR per month
Rotation: 1:1
Location: Europe
Itinerary: Worldwide private/charter operations with a strong explorer and scientific focus.
