Solid experience as a Chief Officer role on vessels 60m+
The successful candidate will possess excellent, proven working knowledge of:
- ISM and Safety Management Systems
- Planned Maintenance Systems
- Passage planning
- Chart and publication updates (OneOcean software and Furuno ECDIS)
- Navigation and seamanship
- Garbage management and MARPOL compliance
- GMDSS testing and radio logs
- Logbooks and bridge record keeping
- Good knowledge of Port state inspections and Flag/Class Inspections
- Yard/Warranty experience a bonus
Experienced officer with great team management skills and In-depth knowledge of safety and emergency protocols
Comfortable working independently and organising yard works/contractors and planning drills, safety inspections, and crew training.
High standards of documentation, communication, and situational awareness along with strong leadership and willingness to get stuck in on deck.
Looking for someone to start ASAP for a handover, then covering December and January in the shipyard while the current chief goes on leave. For the right candidate this COULD become a ROTATIONAL chief officer position before the start of this med season.
Minimum requirements:
STCW basic safety and advanced
Chief mate CoC <3000gt
Passport with at least 6months exp
Drivers license
ENG1 (or equivalent)
Desirable:
Furuno type specific ecdis
Commercial certificates, OOW unlimited ect
Yard/Warranty experience
