I am looking for a cook/stew/light deck for a privately owned 23M motor-yacht based in Turkey for this season. Starting in two weeks. I have been the Captain for this family since 2009 and have been offered to drive much larger boats but they are so generous that I can’t bring myself to leave. The owner likes to kite surf most days and I accompany him. I am looking for an independent all-rounder, self-motivated girl Friday to prepare light breakfast, lunch and dinner when required and impress when we occasionally have guests on board. I’m not looking for a five-star Michelin chef but someone who can source local produce, has a good knowledge of vegetarian cuisine as well as traditional meat and fish. Someone to do cabin cleans in the mornings when the guests leave, maintain the interior to a high standard and help with the exterior. We plan to stay local this season and so light deck duties will be required: fenders, mooring lines, anchor. I don’t mind teaching the deck work if you are a little green but would need to have the basics as this is a two crew boat. I want a team player with a good sense of humour and someone who would be willing to go kite surfing or diving with me, (or learn to do both) when the guests are not on board as those are my passions in life. We have the use of a car for the season, so a driving licence would be useful but not essential for exploring on the days when the owners are not on board. We are treated as part of the family, eating with the owners and their guests either on board or at local restaurants and so I would expect an applicant to have dinning etiquette and respect of the owner’s generosity and space at all times, they are still our employers! I am paying 2700 – 3000 Euro per month depending on your experience with absolutely all expenses paid. More to tell you about the job but in the first instance please touch base with me if you think you have the skill set. The boat is currently out of the water in Gocek and I am preparing her for the season as this advert goes to press. I can take someone on tomorrow to help with that work or wait a few weeks for the right candidate. We plan to launch on about the 22nd so would be good to have someone lined up for that and then head slowly North to Cesme on the 25th for the start of the season as the kite surfing is great up there and the owner will arrive the first week of May. Current Covid flight restrictions for Turkey from the country where you are traveling from would have to be taken into consideration, so please check in the first instance if you are able to fly to Turkey (Dalaman or Antalya) without any quarantine when you arrive. (PCR test would be paid by the boat if your country requires). Return flights at the boats expense.
