Looking for a Stewardess / Cook and Mate team to join immediately for a full-time position aboard a 125-foot schooner sailing yacht based out of Seattle and San Diego.
The Stewardess / Cook must have the ability to handle all areas of the interior including galley; from provisioning to cleaning and serving. With owners aboard, only easy family style healthy meals will be required.
Applicants must be able to work on US flagged vessels and have a current STCW basic training, plus relevant experience and USCG licensing for mate.
Private yacht for an experienced hands-on engineer/captain owner-couple. Would suit a couple who are serious about the industry and are looking to find a long-term position. The crew will be joined by a permanent deckhand / engineer and be joined by captain, chef and steward when on guest trips.
Initial short yard period (one month) to finish up an interior refit and fly bridge installation in Seattle and then followed by cruising in British Columbia and San Juan Islands. Winter location will be San Diego, but likely cruising in Mexico and Costa Rica as well.
This position is best suited for a hands-on, self-motivated stewardess/chef willing to work as part of a crew aboard a 125’ 200 Ton private sailing yacht.
Requirements: • Energetic self-starters with sound work ethic. Organized, responsible and service orientated with good communication skills • Menu planning, varied repertoire and wine knowledge • Provisioning; interior and galley • Ability to anticipate owner needs • Knowledge of nutrition, diets and allergies, food safety and storage • Attention to detail • Budgeting and financial administration; purchasing, ordering, ability to create budgets, work within a budget, track spending • Ability to be physically able to work outdoors in all types of weather – ability to overcome seasickness • Healthy, physically fit, neat and clean appearance, drug-free with no criminal record. A pre-hire criminal background check will be required • Must have valid United States driver’s license (at least one person) • Must be eligible to work in the United States
Primary Stewardess Duties: Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: • Interior cleaning and maintenance • Interior inventory • Interior accounting • Serving meals and bartending • Orchestrating guest activities • Boat stowage for sea • Assisting with lines and fenders on deck
Primary Chef Duties: • Provisioning all food items • Guest and crew meals and nutrition • Food safety, Galley safety and sanitary/storage standards • Adhering to budget • Galley and food inventory
