Chief Officer Role: Chief Officer
Summary: Seeking Chief Officer/Mate for world cruising motor yacht +/-48m, currently cruising Pacific. Private only. Please read details below CAREFULLY before applying. Anyone not meeting the requirements will not be considered.
Start date: Latest mid June in Mexico.
Minimum qualifications: MCA Chief Mate 3000gt, STCW Basic & Advanced safety, ENG1, GMDSS, Helm Management, ECDIS, Advanced medical. OOW 3000gt may be considered with suitable skills and experience. Must hold B1/B2
Beneficial qual’s & skills: SSO, Safety Officer, Medical Person in Charge (MPIC), Dive, Fishing, Kite surf, IT skills, drone operation, video and photography, video production.
Other: All qualifications to be valid for minimum 12 months
Required experience: 5 years on yachts, 2 years as Chief Officer/Mate on 40m+. Extensive watch keeping experience including ocean passages and night watches, full ISM/Mini ISM experience. Prefer experience in coastal and ocean navigation, operating and navigating in tropical waters and remote locations, Flag and Class surveys.
Leave: 2.5 days/month – 30 days/year

Salary: DOE – paid in $USD
Main duties: Chief Officer admin duties, safety officer, Safety management, management of deck team of 2, large tender operation, water sports, navigation, deck maintenance. This is a busy water sports yacht so good experience in kite surfing, blue water fishing and free diving beneficial.
Program: Short term – busy owner trips throughout west coast Mexico and Central America. Shipyard in NZ then Americas Cup and South Pacific cruising in 2021. Yacht spends a lot of time in interesting remote locations but not much time in port, so role suits candidates who enjoy sports and activities, especially diving, fishing and water sports and can handle extended guest trips and time at sea.
